Washington Nationals Moneyline

These two teams played a scoreless game into extra innings last night, with the Marlins pulling it out with two runs in the 10th. The Nationals seem to be sleep-walking through the season to some degree, and their occasionally hapless offense is a big reason why. I think the team will at least get something of a spark with the return of Stephen Strasburg tonight. While he won’t pitch super deep into the game, it’s worth noting that he looked very strong during his rehab assignment. Trevor Rogers has had his share of struggles for the Marlins so far in 2022, and I think Washington can generate just enough offense behind Strasburg to get a road win here. I like them as a decent underdog bet tonight.

Oakland vs. Cleveland Total (Under 9)

This game opened at 9 ½ runs, which was clearly about a run too high. I would still grab the under 9 as long as you can get it at reasonable odds. James Kaprielian is a decent pitcher for the A’s, and I expect him to improve as the season goes along. On the other side, Konnor Pilkington has been a pleasant surprise for the Guardians with a 2.65 ERA and 2.20 FIP in his first six appearances (three starts). Both of these offenses are underwhelming in general, especially Oakland. I don’t see a shootout unfolding here.

New York Yankees Runline (-1.5)

The Yankees should be able to rebound nicely from their disappointing game on Wednesday. They have a great matchup against Dylan Bundy this evening, as Bundy has long struggled with power bats. The Yankees bring that from top to bottom in their lineup. I don’t see Bundy holding them down, and multiple home runs are in play here. If you want some secondary bets, take the YES on some NYY player HR props tonight. With Gerrit Cole on the mound, I see a comfortable Yankees victory in this one.
