Free MLB Player Props Picks For Friday

Even with Boston battling through some injuries that have weakened their lineup considerably, I think this prop for Woodruff is too high.

The Red Sox strikeout at a below average clip and their current projected lineup for today’s game is only fractional higher than their season average. The middle of the Boston order should be tough on Woodruff not only for strikeouts but for raising his pitch count.  Woodruff has been good this year but he has also had an incredibly soft schedule. 

He plays in one of the weakest divisions in all of baseball and has already had four starts against the Pirates and two against the Reds. His numbers are elevated as a result. The weather will also be positive for hitters this evening with temperatures in the mid-80’s and winds blowing out to center. That might not have an effect on Woodruff’s pitching but it could lead to more hits and home runs which make his outing shorter. 

I am going to bet on the talent of Ohtani, not necessarily the matchup going up against Martin Perez.  Ohtani is one of the best pure power hitters in all of baseball and if I can get him at close to 5-1 on my money I will take a shot. Perez has a 6.4% HR/FB ratio which is not a sustainable number even if he has improved his skills as a pitcher.  

Madison Bumgarner is a shell of his former self and just isn’t the dominant pitcher that we got to watch for so many years.  He has been able to be respectable in certain starts this season but his hard hit percentage is at an all time high and his xERA is a full point higher than his ERA.

There won’t be much room for error going up against these talented Braves bats. Acuna has a home run prop of +255 which is a little short for my liking, but it could certainly hit. Acuna will be in his usual leadoff spot and I assume he will get five at bats today.  Austin Riley is another great bet for either the over total bases or a home run bet. I want to attack Bumgarner with righties today and Acuna and Riley are two of the best in the entire league. 

Dodgers at Coors Field

I just wanted to do a quick breakdown of the Dodgers in Coors Field today.  They had an explosive offensive game last night which we all expected.  Unfortunately we were not able to cash our Freddie Freeman home run ticket. 

As of writing this article, there are no total bases props for this game, but there are home run props. I will be going back to Freddie Freeman to homer at +310 on FanDuel.  I am also going to take Trae Turner at +350 on FanDuel. 

As the day goes on there should be more hitting props for you to choose from for the Dodgers.  They get another incredible matchup against Chad Kuhl who is another pitcher much like Jose Urena that has low strikeouts and high walks and gives up hard contact at an above 40% rate.  We should see another night where the Dodgers will be all over box score as the night progresses.
