We continue with our preseason NFL betting coverage by switching to the ever-growing in popularity player props market. We will be giving you guys a few of our favorite season-long player prop picks, broken down by offensive position. We start today with the quarterback position.

2022 NFL Futures Props Picks

Matt Ryan Under 3950.5 Yards

Starting off with an old face in a new city, as Matt Ryan moved to Indianapolis during the offseason. Ryan has gone under on this number three years in a row, and that was while he was with the Atlanta Falcons – a pass-first offense that was trailing all of the time due to a terrible defense.

Now, he’s on offense that is run first and has much better defense on the other side. It’s much less likely that Ryan will be forced to pass the ball 50 times a game in this offense, which of course, should lead to a lower-yardage total. We like this number to go way under here.

Trey Lance Under 3500.5 Yards

It is nearing the end of the summer, and we still don’t know who the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers is going to be. The Niners weren’t able to find a trading partner for Jimmy G in the offseason, so in order for Lance to cover this over, we would first have to earn the starting role, which is not guaranteed.

Then, he would have to stay healthy most of the season and still air the ball out a good amount considering he figures to be more of the Lamar Jackson RPO type QB. There is way too much uncertainty there, so we love the under on Lance here. If Lance does end up winning the starting job, look for this number to jump up a bit, and to be honest, we would still like the under in that case.

Baker Mayfield Under 3800.5 Yards

There is similar logic in this pick as there was with the Trey Lance under selection. First, Baker Mayfield has to win the starting job from Sam Darnold, something that is expected, but not guaranteed, after the Panthers traded for the former #1 overall pick.

Then, he has to keep the starting job throughout the season, a task that might prove difficult if the Panthers get off to yet another slow start this season. If Christian McCaffrey can stay healthy this year, he will be heavily relied on in the running game, which will also lead to fewer passes from Mayfield. All signs are pointing to the under here, so take it and run with it.

Jared Goff Over 23.5 Passing Touchdowns

It’s not too often you find yourself betting on the Detroit Lions, or on Jared Goff, but this looks like a number that is just too low for us. Goff had 19 passing TDs last year, and it was his first year in the offense.

Am’Ron St Brown came on late as a solid receiving threat, and they also added DJ Chark from the Jaguars to give Goff more weapons to throw to. If he can stay healthy, Goff could very well push for 30 passing touchdowns this year.

In addition, the Lions should still be rather porous on defense, and of course, negative game script should lead to more passes from Goff, and more scoring opportunities.
